James has taught Nonviolent Communication for over 15 years, and trauma-informed education for the last 9. He is the lead educator for Echo Parenting & Education, and has helped update, revise, and rewrite curriculums at both Echo Parenting and Wolf Connection. The classes below continue that work, integrating ritual and decolonial framings to deepen and broaden what's offered.

• Pedagogy of the Oppressed

  Come study "Pedagogy of the Oppressed" with James. Chapter by chapter, we'll review the core concepts, theory, and practices in the text, and reflect on how these ideas have shaped movement-building spaces like the Los Angeles Tenants Union, therapeutic and healing contexts, old-time traditional settings, and other collective efforts rooted in human dignity and solidarity.

• Regret, Grace, Love & Learning

  This workshop reframes regret away from shame, blame, and punishment, and toward reflection, compassion, and growth. Through practices like "beneficial regret," we'll explore how regret can guide us to deeper understanding, stronger relationships, and more life-affirming choices.

• Self Empathy & Self Care

  A healing space for individuals to learn their nervous system and a practical approach to self-care — beyond a bubble-bath post on Instagram, toward something more like embodied self-awareness and self-compassion. Ideal for those needing restoration and re-alignment.

For those who'd like to attend a workshop but can't due to cost, here is a sliding scale to use — and for those with more access to money through income or family wealth, using the higher tiers is encouraged. It's a simple way we take care of each other as a community.
